Privacy Policy
Effective 20 October 2026
This policy explains how the Namaz Planner app (“the app”), published by Moinuddin Girach (“we”, “us”), handles information. It applies to the app on iOS and Android and to this website.
Information that stays on your device
The app stores the following only on your phone, in the app's own storage. We never receive it.
- Your place. The city you choose, or your approximate location if you allow location access. It is used to calculate prayer times, makruh times and the qibla direction on your phone.
- Your settings. Calculation method, Asr time, your own namaz times, alert preferences and language.
- Your prayer log. Which prayers you marked as prayed, late, missed or excused.
The home-screen widget reads the next prayer from the same on-device storage. Alerts are scheduled locally by your phone; no push notification service is used.
Location
Location access is optional. You can pick a city instead. If you allow it, the app reads your position once to find your city and calculate times. Your location is not sent to us, is not shared with advertisers by the app, and is not tracked in the background. The qibla compass uses your phone's motion and compass sensors on the device.
Advertising (Google AdMob)
The app is free and shows a small banner ad, provided by Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect information such as:
- device and app identifiers (such as the identifier for vendors on iOS or the advertising ID on Android),
- your IP address, which can indicate an approximate location,
- ad interactions (views and taps) and diagnostic data such as crash logs.
The app does not ask for permission to track you across other companies' apps and websites, so on iOS the advertising identifier (IDFA) is not available to the ads. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before personalised ads, using Google's consent message. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Privacy options in the app, where shown.
Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services and the Google Privacy Policy.
What we don't do
- We don't require an account or ask for your name, email or phone number.
- We don't run servers that receive your data, and we don't sell personal information.
- We don't use analytics services in the app.
Children
The app is suitable for all ages but is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. Ads are requested in a way suitable for a general audience.
Deleting your data
Because your data is stored only on your phone, uninstalling the app deletes it. For data held by Google for advertising, see the Google links above or your phone's ad settings (on Android you can reset or delete your advertising ID).
This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. It is hosted on Cloudflare, which may process basic technical data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
